Comment: This pen looks very pretty in your hand.it's not bulky and feels good to the touch.my only problem its that I have to shake the pen a few times for the ink to come out of the point.note, the point is thick so your handwriting does not come out fine and thin.also note, it rolls well across paper.

I don't have much to say to expand on my points above. This is a very aesthetic pen and a great cost for someone who wants an affordable first fountain pen to start a collection or an inexpensive pen for a gift it you don't want to spend the $75-hundreds a "brand" pen will easily cost you. And it's not every day that you'll come across a fountain pen brand that will take universal cartridges, which is a good money saver in the long run.

The biggest drawback however is a big one - this pen is surprisingly heavy for a fountain pen, so heavy that my hand is actually a little sore from writing with it. I actually have to take breaks and put the pen down which is very bad for journaling and upsets my thought process. Mind you, I didn't expect this to work as well as my snooty European Waterman and Aldo Domani pens (made in France and Germany respectively). This pen is made in China (not to step on any toes here but you can't expect European-level quality from a product not made in Europe). I don't regret buying this but I don't think I'd completely recommend it either because I can't use it for the reason I bought it for - writing and journaling. I'll use it when I have to take a few notes or messages or something requiring brief writing, but I'll use my expensive pens for journaling because I go on for pages and pages sometimes and I don't think my hand can take the pressure with this pen.

UPDATE: I'm editing this review because my thoughts on it have changed a bit. The universal ink cartridge I was using wasn't very good and I suspect it was bleeding ink and taking the pen longer to prime, so I've removed the priming concerns from this review. I put in a fresh cartridge yesterday and the skipping problem seems to have lessened considerably, too. However, I stand by my opinion that the pen itself is too heavy to use comfortably for a long period of time.
